Day Trips and Outings
Several times each year SLO RAM members can participate in special events or tours at local destinations. These outings are typically open to spouses or significant others. Announcements of upcoming outings are posted below and in the Monthly Bulletin. If you would like to add your name to the Day Trip and Outings mailing list, contact Hal Thilmony at email@example.com or 510-604-2025.
In addition, contact Hal if you have suggestions for future outings or have special connections for arranging a SLO RAM club tour or event.
Planned Outing - September 2022
A private tour of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, at 11am. This outing is open to SLORAM members and their significant others. A SLOMA curator will share insights related to both the permanent collection as well as the upcoming exhibit of photorealistic paintings by Alyssa Monks.
For those who are interested, we will also plan a group luncheon, somewhere near the museum, following the tour. Suggestions invited.
SLOMA is located at 1010 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. To sign up for this tour, email Hal Thilmony at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Virtual Day Trips
SLO RAM Day Trips were on-hold during the COVID-19 restrictions. In lieu of in-person trips, videos of local interest were collected during that time for your enjoyment in the safety and comfort of your home. These videos are listed below – just click on the green box to watch them.
Windset Farms operates an 8 million square foot greenhouse complex in Santa Maria using state-of-the art technology and responsible growing practices. It is a pioneer in water conservation, energy conservation and renewable energy. Windset was on our list of possible day trip destinations but unfortunately, they do not accommodate group tours. In lieu of tours, Windset provided two videos.
